CASA MACKENZIE - APARTMENT CONCEPT
Design Inspiration & Development
The starting point for the concept was the clients’ global travels.
The colour palate was influenced by the pantone ‘culture eclectic’ trend, particularly the maxi-tribe sub trend.
I had also recently visited Cuba so have a firsthand experience of its contrast. It is a mix of Spanish Colonial & Modernist building styles and strong Caribbean colours, distressed by age. These elements would be broadly being classified as the design style of rough luxe.
A darker timber floor from tectonic, contrasts with a distressed paint finish. Wall paper from Zepel.
Key pieces of furniture where selected from Australian designers and suppliers; including Adam Goodrum, Ben-Tovim Design, Arthur G, Design by Them, Zuster, Jardan, Darcy Clarke Design, Workshopped, Christopher Elliot Design, Tappeti, Modern Times and Lifespacejourney.
Jewel tones across a variety of fabric textures, add luxury to the space.
